Lesley's Last Word on Weight Loss

get by with a little help from my resources

Below is a list of frequently visited websites that have helped me along my way.

  • 35 Power Foods - check out a list of the foods that you should include in your diet that give you 1) the richest amount of nutrients; 2) the least amount of calories; and 3) the most health benefits to decrease your risk of heart disease.

  • Alcohol - Calories & Points - a great resource for those of us who like to throw back a drink or two!

  • Calorie Count - one of the best databases for nutritional information (search by food group, restaurant, manufacturer, etc.).

  • The Daily Plate - set up an account and begin to track calories in a fun, intuitive and interactive way. You can search almost any food by generic brands, specific terms, or restaurant for calories consumed, and search activities for calories burned. A bonus - food search results often provide lower-calorie alternatives.

  • Grocery Deals - a great resource for local bargains.

  • Health Discovery - a Weight Watchers support network complete with message boards, recipes, food lists and popular restaurant menu point values!

  • Hungry Girl - an average girl's website with daily tips and tricks to handle food issues that most of us struggle with every day.

  • Managing Your Weight - helpful articles written by doctors, nutritionists and certified personal trainers; includes information on metabolism, portion control, plateaus, eating disorders, weight cycling and the ever-famous article, Why the Scale Lies, just to name a few!

  • Refuse to Regain - providing a supportive and educational online community dedicated to helping you maintain your weight loss.

  • USDA Nutritional Database - another fantastic resource with NI for nearly every food and beverage known to man.

  • Weight Watchers - duh!
